New Trail Signs Going Up

Watch for new informational trail signs that are being installed along the trails in Montgomery, Miami and Greene County.

The signs provide distances to destinations like water, restrooms and cities; the name and route number of the trail you are on and what entity is responsible for the trail’s maintenance.

Recreation Trails Blocked by Down Trees

Yesterday’s winds not only took down trees in neighborhoods but also along the Great Miami and Stillwater River Recreation Trails.

Work to clear the trails has begun, but the volume of the fallen trees will keep crews busy for days. Particularly hard hit areas include DeWeese Parkway, Triangle Park, Deeds Point; all wooded sections south of the Mandalay Banquet Center.

Great Miami River Recreation Trail Closure

Riders along the Great Miami River Recreation Trail between West Carrollton and Miamisburg will need to find another route for a few months as the Miami Conservancy District (MCD) reconstructs more than 1.5 miles of the trail.

The trail – from Sycamore Creek in Miamisburg to about a half mile south of Farmersville-West Carrollton Road – will be closed for 90 days beginning Aug. 6.

M’burg to W. Carrollton closed on GMR Trail

Beginning August 6, 1.5 miles of the GMR Trail between Miamisburg and West Carrollton will be closed for reconstruction. The closure will last 90 days. The trail will also be widened to 10 feet where possible with 3-foot side berms.
