Greene County Bike Trails

All Greene County trails are open.  The Parks Department has done an outstanding job in removing all of the downed trees.  There is still some debris on the trails.

Recreation Trails Blocked by Down Trees

Yesterday’s winds not only took down trees in neighborhoods but also along the Great Miami and Stillwater River Recreation Trails.

Work to clear the trails has begun, but the volume of the fallen trees will keep crews busy for days. Particularly hard hit areas include DeWeese Parkway, Triangle Park, Deeds Point; all wooded sections south of the Mandalay Banquet Center.

Another part of LMST Closed

I have been informed that the Little Miami Scenic Trail is closed for about a mile North of the Corwin Staging area. Mr. Alan Ferguson the ODNR Manager of the trail said: “ I wanted to pass along that we have closed another section of the Little Miami State Park.  The trail will be closed from the Corwin staging area to the north for about 1 mile due to pavement deterioration.  Riders should probably plan on staging at Corwin for points south and Xenia Hub for points north”

Backroads detour for LMST

There are a couple of choices for getting around the Trail closure between Hedges and Richland.  One is US 42: take Hedges or Richland east to US 42.  The other uses back roads.  See this link: http://www.bikemap.net/route/82590 for this route.  Either way there’s some winding roads and some steep grades.

In either case, when on the roads obey traffic laws!
