Just think today as I was going up around the bend on Stroop by the green a red pickup truck tried to see how close he can to me so that he does not have to change lanes like all the cars before him and after him did so safely . He was laughing out loud as I passed him. One ignorant soul a day. I noticed that when I’m on Stroop and in traffic I always have at least one or more issues but on County Line with only one lane I never had a problem other than cars not stopping as they enter on to County Line, but down further on County Line I get harassed by cars that (now get this) that wish to speed past the cars in on the center lane so that they can get in front and turn left at Patterson!
Back to safety campaigns. The DDN you would think that they would run some kind of info blurb with all the “cyclist” that work their. Then you would think that DCC would be supporting something either on public tv or radio. Then the local schools could run something free in the media because it is a public notice. Then we have the LBS that could sponsor. It appears that there is no one that would check into this matter thus no campaigns. If I had the time and had any writing skills I would love to got to each media outlet and have them run a 2-min bike safety blurb. I did it in LA and then found that the local bike club took on the irresponsibility with club members on video and on the radio and to think that initially no one thought it would be that simple but it was. Here in Ohio I am wondering if we do have cyclist trying or not.
Does anyone have a plan or should I start calling around?
