The commentary is true, some cyclist don’t follow the laws. I see it on each daily commute. But if Ken Mccall or the person that he wrote the commentary for, road a bike in city streets then they would know that frustrating experience of cars ignoring your rights and would have quite a deferent story to report. I commute all year round, rain and snow. The main roads in Dayton and Kettering are very dangerous to us bikers. I could write volumes how cars do not follow the law as well.

You need to write to Ken and let him know what it is really like to commute.  I don’t commute, but I wrote him anyway to let him know that, like you say, we are not the only lawbreakers (I’m not one of them with bike or car) on the road!

I know what you’re saying. Mr. Mccall’s is writing for someone else’s observations and thus, he can only frustrate us cyclist that do very well by obeying the laws. I would say that the cyclists that his friend observed can care less for their actions and probably got to their destination having numerous cars ignoring his or her rights as a cyclist. I look at the source and wonder that he missed a great opportunity for a good commentary.
