Where will the ride go?

How long will it take?

It is 15 miles there from my house in Dayton, so I will need to tack on another hour to the end for getting back home if I can work it in.

OK, I found the info under an earlier thread so I copied & pasted it:

Night Riders - ride with the Greene County Parks Trail Sentinels. Ride is free and will be approximately 20 miles round trip. Will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms. For ages 18+. Saturday, October 11, 7p.m. Ride will leave from Xenia Station, 150 Miami Ave., Xenia.  Greene County requires helmets and lights for this ride.

I did the ride in September and really enjoyed it.  We rode to Cedarville and back.  Afterward many of us stopped for coffee and pie smile

I plan on doing the ride again.  Hope to see some of you there.

Looks like there are two “Moonlight Rides” out of Xenia Saturday evening.  One from the Surf & Cycle and the other from Xenia Station sponsored by Greene County Parks and led by the Trail Sentinels.

The one I rode last month was the Greene County Parks ride.

I thought that the Surf and Cycle had something at the end of the ride like a fire or pot-luck or is that only on special occasions?

The Night Riders Ride - 10/11/08 - will be from Xenia Station to Factory Road and return to Xenia Station.  It takes approximately 2 1/2 hours if it goes like the two previous rides.  Hope to see you there.  Richard - Greene County Trail Sentinel.

OK, I was still filleting fish when I should have been on my way to Xenia, so I missed them.  Weather was perfect!

Let’s hear some reports!

Night Riders ride went off with out major incident.  One fellow lost his wedding ring, but found it quickly - saved his own life.  Weather was perfect.  Had 12 riders plus 3 Trail Sentinels.  Lots of good conversation, met new friends, had a great time.  My wife made Oatmeal Raisin cookies and the Greene County Parks Dept provided Hot Chocolate.  Looking forward to the next Night Ride in November – date not set yet.

Will there be cookies again grin

Oatmeal raisin is my favorite and your wife makes the best ones!

I really enjoyed the ride.  It was good to see Oldshacker and his wife again.

Outstanding ride last night. Our thanks to the Green County Trail Sentinels for getting this ride going. We met another tandem couple that have a really nice upright by Santana. They did make the ride interesting by losing a wedding ring and then finding it on the path. It was fun meeting and riding with others that enjoy the same kind of casual ride as we do. We did find that some cyclist like to ride without lights and reflectors or reflective gear. With a group as large as we had the bollards did not take any of us out.  Some of them do not have any reflective tape on it so you just have to plan on them being there ready to take you down.
At the end of the ride we had really good cookies and hot chocolate.
The company was great and it was nice to see rtool and Beverly and others.  I would say that awanabug and Bikehead would really enjoy the ride as we did and I hope that we see you next time. Big thanks to the Green County Parks staff.

pennypue,

There might be one more in Nov.  by the Green County Trail Sentinels if we all let the Green County Parks know that we are interested. Some of us would like to give it a go again just so that we can have rtool’s wife make us more cookies for after the ride. They were good!  tongue rolleye
Let rtool know by email that you would like to ride in Nov. or give the Greene County Parks folks a call.
