Thanks Beverly, I’ll consider those. Right now I have that pair from Performance bike that seems to be pretty good. I was thinking about putting a pair of silk leggings under them to see if that bumps the warmth.

I doubt that I’d wear shorts or knickers beneath. I tend not too like too much fabric or padding between the legs. smile

None of my winter tights have padding….just the shorts underneath.  I agree that two pair with padding would be way tooooo much ohh

I know that your getting best from Beverly who is a DDC member and volunteer’s with the Park Trail Sentinels. You have to be comfortable to make the whole ride a good experience.
Another way to make that all happen is try one of the weekly rides by the Dayton Cycle Club. You might even see Beverly and what she has for that days ride.  You do not have to be a member to ride. We all take to the cold differently. My wife gets all bundled up because we have a tandem recumbent. She can put on layers upon layers without being too much, then there is rtool   well,  you will find him with sandals and socks in 30 degree weather.  gulp
I live in Kettering and each Sunday there is a group of DDC riders that start at Bevercreek gazebo and head on over to Young’s for coffee and eats.  I think that Tom Wilson is heading the DDC group this week.
And another thing that is very important is that if your a member you get 10% off of Bike parts and gear at most bike shops like K&G;and Kettering bike. I hope that you do not think I am trying to sell DDC, but, they have rider that ride like Beverly and me all year round.

You can try your local Ski shops for great deals on cold gear for women as well.

I’d love to come out and ride. But I’ve been slacking a bit. I’m getting some of those internal girl bits removed in December and will be out of the saddle for a bit. :(

I was kinda hoping that WB would get one of those kid carts and pull me behind him until I recover well enough to ride myself. :D

You need to have to have time to recover that is for sure.  Just to let you know, Tom Wilson has made a special bike to accommodate his wife. A bike that is kind of part bike and part wheelchair.
Please take your time for a full recovery and we all will be here when you have time ride again. As part of your recovery you ought to think of trying a recumbent out because of the lack of stress on the body.  Me being a recumbent rider I just have to put my 2-cents in.

Hehehe, I sat in a recumbent at the bike shop. Really like it, but I did see the price tag! I think I can wait the couple of weeks to get back on the bike.

On a funner note, I got my jacket that I ordered from nashbar. I like it. Fits quite snug, and seems to be pretty warm. Can’t wait to give it a go. The pants I wasn’t quite as thrilled about. I’ll have to try them on in the morning and see if my opinion improves. Just seems like they don’t have very good ‘behind’ coverage….....:D
