Motorcyclists in Oregonia

I hope no one had to battle their way through Oregonia today for the large motorcycle gathering (1000+). Did Sturgis get moved to Ohio… LOL!!

We decided to go from South Lebanon to Corwin to avoid the heavier anticipated fair-weather traffic down toward Loveland and Milford. HA!!! Bad choice!! We made it Corwin and back, but it was a mess!!! People were walking 8 or more abreast on the trail in Oregonia and Sheriff’s were using their cruisers on the trail because the roads were jammed with motorcycles… ugh!!!!

Wish we’d seen this on a calendar somewhere!!!

For me it is bike shourts under workout shorts with a wicking T-shirt, but some commutes can wear just about anything. I wonder what you ride to work in.

Catalogs have a section for Commuting Products

More and more web sites geared for cyclist are pushing that gas it high and commuting on the bike is a good way to get in shape and save money at the same time. Great. I like the trend and I do feel that it is kind of late. I thought that $1.00 was high price for gas. Now $4.00+ is a down right a crime. There are a lot of reason why the high profit margins are pocketed now so we can leave that up to the other “Forums” but, I feel commuting by bike is a good way to get around. Unfortunately most commerce establishments do not agree that commuting is good for they will not allow bikes near the front or in view when you go shopping. I have to ask if I can park my bike in or in view and almost all the time I get the okay, but I had to ask. Most let me put the bike in the free space between the storm doors and against the wall.
Soon we should see more bike trailers that are just for groceries products and not kids and animals or even expedition cargo.
We shoud see more baskets for bikes an locks sales to go up. We might even see better commuting outer wear.

Bike route signs?

Maybe the commuters in the group can answer a question for me. What is the general rule around town about riding on sidewalks? Should? Shouldn’t? No one cares? I see Bike Route signs posted along various roads; does that mean they expect you to ride on the sidewalk along that street? Is the sidewalk the bike route?
